Settee Chairs

The windsor settee is a wooden bench with a back and (most of the time) arms. The form first entered the windsor world in the 1750’s as an elongated form of a low-back chair (a captain’s chair). Windsor settees are made in all the same basic styles as windsor chairs of the 18th century and incorporate all of the elements that make each style unique. Six legged settees are the most common although I have seen eight, ten and twelve leg forms.
